FIRES

The fires listed on this page represent the large quantity of major fires that have occurred since the implementation of the Fire Alarm System (1852), and which have had a significant impact on the City of Boston. The many fires listed here mostly involve multiple-alarm fires, or other major emergencies, as these are usually more spectacular, destroy the most property, attract more media attention, and have a larger impact on the citizens sense of well-being and safety.
