HISTORY

This firehouse was built on an unknown date as part of the Charlestown Fire Department, and Franklin Engine Company 7 had its quarters here.

The firehouse was located at 51 Bunker Hill Street at the corner of Tufts Street, near the Charlestown Naval Shipyard, Charlestown.

On October 20, 1885 Hose 4 moved into a new firehouse at 44 Monument Street, several blocks away. The firehouse at 51 Bunker Hill Street was closed.

The old firehouse at 51 Bunker Hill Street was demolished at an unknown date. Residential housing currently occupies the site.
