This page offers our supporters an opportunity to donate to the Boston Fire Historical Society, Inc. The Boston Fire Historical Society (BFHS) is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization as approved by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Contributions to the BFHS are tax-deductible under provisions of Section 501-(c)(3) of the IRS tax code.
The BFHS is undertaking a public service project to identify, collect, examine and make available to the public the vast quantity of written and photographic records of the Boston Fire Department, many of which have never been seen by non-department personnel or by members of the general public. Additionally, the BFHS has already begun the process of posting on our website many Fire Department records, reports, photographs and historical data which have been published over the years but had not been available electronically. This public service project has been undertaken with the support of the Fire Commissioner and the Chief of Department of the Boston Fire Department.
Support is needed to assist with the costs involved in the development, maintenance and on-going support of the website, as well as the costs associated with document scanning and the storage and maintenance of the original documents. Supporters who donate to the BFHS will receive an acknowledgement letter from the Board of Directors, along with supporting tax-exemption information.
